So we both took this week off in hopes that we would be able
to work a bunch in the studio, and do some other things we were wanting to do
(like go to the Dallas World Aquarium, and a Side Show Themed Party). Today is the second day of our week and it’s
off to a good start, I got in the studio and threw about fifty or so things
this morning. Keturah went to devotions
this morning, but when she gets back she is going to carve some handles, an
Owl-y Bank, and maybe put some feet on some big bowls. Hopefully we will have a lot of pictures to
show for this week. I’m also hoping to
post quite a few blogs, and get a bunch of stuff up on our Etsy store. Tomorrow
we are going to the City (Oklahoma City that is) and get some more clay, have
some good Pho, and then get home and back in the studio to do some more
work. We are focusing on functional work
this week, so if you have any ideas for something you’d like us to make just
let us know and we will give it a go. As for right now it’s lunch time!

Handling Sculpture
Worked in the studio some more this weekend. I trimmed some large bowls, and did some finishing work on some other items. Keturah set to work on carving handles for the cups that I threw for her the other day.
This handle is a fern frond.
These pictures are of some fish swimming in water.
These two pictures are of a handle carved to look like a tree limb (or maybe some roots, I'm not quite sure).
And these pictures are of an otter "surfing" a wave.
I think they are looking pretty good. If you have any ideas for a sculptural handle let us know and we will see what we can do.
